Saw so many posts about gamers claiming that corpos want to take away their pcs and force them on the cloud.

Like no they don't give a fuck about gamers, they want to use every resource they can for AI datacenters.

Greed is a cancer. They would literally suck up every last resource from humanity until we all went extinct.

Bro, they are.

That's the idea. Rules and regulations stopped them. Once those are gone, then there isn't much else to stop them. Humans always needed an outside source to save us from ourselves as we're our own worst enemy.

I like how gamers are slowly rediscovering why things like government regulations over greedy corporations, progressive taxation/taxing the super wealthy, etc are not just good in general but a necessity for a functioning society that doesn't just consist of a tiny handful of the uber wealthy ruling over all of us and grinding us into dust.

I hope the right-wing, gamergater-types realize they've been duped by conservative cultural propaganda into supporting politicians/political parties who have been gradually feeding them into a woodchipper.

Corpos do want to take away your PC and force you to the cloud.

Yes, and then pay for it by the minute. With ads. Unless you pay for the ad free tier.

Just kidding.

There will be no ad free tier.

the cloud gaming push comes once the AI hardware ages out or usefullness towards AI. They will want to re-purpose it to recoup more money for their AI push.

it's funny, all the dystopian future novels worried that a self-actualizing AI would suck up all the resources of the world and lead to humanity's downfall because we failed to institute adequate safeguards on the AI. As it turns out, humans ourselves are just happily feeding all our own resources into it preemptively.

No they just want you to be reliant on them and give them that sweet sweet subscription money

It's that the costs are going up due to scarcity. Not that it's specifically different than what you said, just it's not something to do with desire.
