Cloud gaming != digital downloads. They're completely different paradigms and it's a slippery slope fallacy to say one leads to the other.

It's all still just renting/licensing the games. The end result is that you don't actually own it, you're simply paying a fee to have access to it.

It's all just licensing the games. It's the exact same license with physical disks/cartridges. You're not paying a fee to "have access to it." You are buying a license to play the game just like any other copyrighted work.

When you buy a game as a digital download you can download the game. That can be the end of your interaction with the company if you so choose. When you buy a game for cloud gaming or subscribe to a cloud gaming service you are eternally dependent on that company to provide the streaming service. These are completely different paradigms.
