Arcade but much worse, i would still prefer arcades because economy was better when they were popular

At least arcades were honest about it. 25 cents for a few minutes of gameplay, longer if you were good at the game.

Also arcades are genuinely fun if you play them with your friend since most of them still relies on local split-screen or LAN-like experience.

Yes, in 1990 we had an oil crisis due to the gulf war and a recession, though by modern standards that recession was mild and cyclical.

Well the one I was referring to was the 1979 oil crisis and accompanying recessions.

The peak time for American arcades was 1978-1983.

The Great Depression was pretty famously fine for billionaires the ultra wealthy... This isn't new. Whatever there's a downturn in the economy the rich are able to scoop up capital for cheap. It's how it's always been.

Kids aren't interested in console gaming. They're playing Minecraft and Roblox on phones instead and they're staying there.  The standard market model in place for all of our lives is starting to shrink

Meanwhile I'm playing 1944: The Loop Master on MAME with a Mayflash arcade stick with Sanwa stick and bottons for FREE baby. That's because the version on my Arcade1Up machine randomly crashes the whole machine for some reason.

Okay, the hardware wasn't free, but that's kind of the point here.
