I recently helped out a friend who was in a depression slump due to the loss of a close family member. It was hard work, the place was a wreck, but I happily did it because I knew it would greatly improve their mental state.

Then I went home.

I'm the friend who can and will send back an order for a friend because they got a tomato when they asked for no tomato, but won't ask again if my waiter forgets my ranch. That is to say, I want to take care of people that I love and will go out of my way to do so, but seem to have executive dysfunction when it comes to my own shit.

So! I propose a swapping service. I clean your house, you clean mine. You're nearby (but not on top of me, maybe quarantined to one room that I'll do last) so that I can run through things like "are we keeping this or throwing it away?" Or "you have 5 different sizes of pants, which ones fit you currently and which ones are we storing for weight loss/gain?" Etc. But you're entirely hands off, doing your own thing.

Then you come do the same thing at my place!

I have a terrible business idea.

Those tiny “NASA space heaters” sold in scammy ads should have a tiny crypto miner inside. It would still make heat, because the miner uses electricity and turns almost all of it into heat.

The customer thinks they bought a miracle heater. Meanwhile, the scammer gets free power for mining Alephium.

Sadly, an IceRiver AL0 does not mine Bitcoin. It uses about 100 watts and earns only around eight cents a day before costs.

Put 1,000 of them in homes, and the scammer might collect about $81 a day in coins. That sounds funny until you remember the machines cost $55,000 and need internet, cooling, repairs, and lots of angry customers asking why their “heater” barely warms a sock.

Also, 100 watts is weak for a room. It is basically a warm computer with a NASA sticker and a crime attached.

Instead of doing dishonest work and defrauding money off people. Charge a monthly fee (no obligation) - to provide regular check-ins, reminders and friendly discussions with seniors etc.

There should be insurance for parking tickets, speeding tickets and other minor moving violations.

You pay a monthly premium, and if you get a ticket, the policy covers some or all of the fine.

Obviously you couldn’t make it unlimited or you’d basically be selling a subscription to break traffic laws. It could work more like regular insurance: deductibles, annual coverage limits, exclusions for serious or reckless offenses, and premiums that increase when you get too many violations.

Maybe your first $115 parking ticket is covered, but getting six of them in three months makes your premium skyrocket or gets your policy canceled.

It could even incentivize better driving. Go a year without a ticket and your premium drops. Take a defensive driving course and get a discount.

It wouldn’t cover points, license suspensions, towing, impoundment, DUI/DWI, reckless driving or criminal offenses. Those consequences would still belong to the driver. It would just insure the unpredictable financial cost of ordinary parking and traffic violations.

We already insure ourselves against accidentally damaging our cars, homes, phones and other people's property. Why not insure ourselves against accidentally parking 15 minutes too long or getting photographed doing 37 in a 25?

'Walk", "half", "salmon" etc. now have a pronounced L. "Castle", "thistle", etc. have a pronounced t."Knight" and "know" are pronounced with a k, and the "gh" is pronounced as f, like "cough" or "laugh." "Doubt" has a b (or a p, same idea though). The w before words like "write" is pronounced. "O" in "opossum." You get the idea.

We already do this with some words: "often" used to be officially pronounced without the t but many people pronounce the t. Why not do this with every word? This will make English a lot easier and intuitive to learn. I know it's a crazy idea though.

I only use a certain laptop occasionally. Every time I use it, every single app advertises new, but useless features on boot. I have to constantly dismiss these notifications. I'd rather have an app that does this for me automatically.

The hard pity for it would be 8 total rejections, while the soft pity counter would be in-between 5-7 rejections. Have 1 world language for communications. In preparation for this, teach kids in school it as a second language. If people have language that they are connected to in some ways like the jewish people with Hebrew or the catholic people like Latin that would be there second language and there would be no problem keeping that as a second language. The United Nations would have to be in charge of this. Another idea to make it equal for everyone make a whole new language so no one is more familiar with it than other people.tell me what you think.
