So apparently I shorted a guy $400 on Monday and I was over 200 when balancing now it’s Thursday and he’s calling back saying I shorted him 400 . What is chase gonna do to me?? I’m still fairly new, it’s been 45 days ish. I don’t wanna lose this job!! Anyone have any stories!

I recently opened a Chase Total Checking account, during the promotion period where they’re offering $400 if you make $1,000 or more of qualifying deposits within 90 days

I’m currently in school, so I don’t have full-time job at the moment (only party time), and I don’t think I’ll be able to reach the $1,000 by the 90-day mark. Can I temporarily use a family member’s DD and then just switch it back after? Will that still trigger it?

I’ve also been hearing of people using their Fidelity Cash Management account, and stating that it’s not theirs in the Chase app. Anyone have any success there with that method?

I recently went to the bank in person and deposited a check of $400. The full amount wasn't available just yet, only a small portion. A day or two afterwards, I check again and notice $400 gone. The little notice says "deposited item returned - duplicate". Contacted who I got the check from, they said on their end it says it was cashed. The only advice they could offer me was whether or not I deposited it twice on my end. I did not. What can I do going forward? They did say they contacted the bank and are currently waiting for a response from them. I've never had this happen and will most likely end up visiting my closest branch to figure this out. Since chase is taking their time getting back to them and I had already visited once to see what the problem was (when they sent me an official letter in the mail with a copy of the check).

Hey. I’m currently trying to check for pre-approval offers, but when I enter my information and press submit, I get this:

“We can’t find any offers for you right now. This could be because you’ve opted out of pre-screened offers or you’ve recently responded to another offer. Your credit has not been impacted.”

Does anyone know why it would say this? I know for a fact that I haven’t responded to any other offers, since this is my first time doing anything credit card-related. I’m just trying to get my first credit card.

There's a payment that I don't believe I made on my Amazon credit card through and I'm trying to submit an inquiry, but Chase's website keeps spamming me with requests to update my contact info. Whenever I agree to confirm, it says that it's received my confirmation, and then on the next window it asks me again. If I refuse to confirm, it tells me that the feature is broken and to try again. I eventually fought my way to the inquiry page, and then when I attempted to submit it, the button just didn't do anything.

Has anybody had any experience like this?

I got locked out of my account after trading in my phone and then going overseas with the military. I called 15 times over the course of 3 days. Each time, same BS. "We're gonna send a push notification to your registered phone". But I don't have that phone anymore, I keep telling them.

And then all the dumb ideas came flowing from the fraud dept. "You're gonna have to take two forms to the bank in the US. Sorry you can't pay your bills. I promise we didn't steal your money, we're just protecting you by preventing you from accessing it. Can you go get your old phone back? Can you fly back from overseas to go to a bank with ID cards? Sorry you failed verification, please call back in 5 minutes and maybe it will prompt us a different method to verify you."

No override. Nothing! So...at this point I'm just drinking and bored so I just start calling and trolling them for fun with the small chance someone might tell me something different. Well finally someone smart answered the phone. "If you don't have access to that phone, I'll forward you to customer service where they will remove that phone from your account". Rep sent me to CS, took 60 seconds to remove phone, sent back to fraud, and boom they get the prompt to send a simple text message! Jesus Christ, why was that so hard??

Hey everyone

Basically the title, when I saw the charge I got I tried to be quick in reporting it but probably should have just gone for the refund or taken the hit.

I got my new card, was adding it to Apple Pay and they said I had to call them in order to do it. Called, they told me my phone is now permanently flagged as a potentially fraudulent device and there’s no way to use Apple Pay and I can’t reverse this.

Super annoying, very much a first world problem but I live in a city where I rely on being able to tap my phone to get on public transit. Needing to pull my wallet out and dig for my card every time is gonna drive me crazy.

Not sure what I can do if anything. Anyone else been in this situation?

Received three $10 Paze credits in one transaction, it showed a negative points and coded the transaction as “refund”.

I thought Paze credits are statement credits and not coded as refund? My other chase cards coded the paze credit as “adjustment” without mentioning points earned/lost

Anyone have the same issue?

I've used paze a few times now, but still no credit. Used my chase debit card, which is activated on paze account. Never used for GC purchase, so i always thought it was safe. First time used on Domino's on June/22, checked out using paze with my debit card. I just checked my account today, Sep/02, and still no credit.

Did this happen to anyone else? how did you fix it?

My partner and I received a check back for our security deposit and the check was written with both of our names separated by the word “And” instead of “Or”. Chase refused to allow me to deposit the check despite the endorsement from my partner without us opening a joint account. Is this a new policy or is this branch just outright wrong, we’ve deposited checks addressed to both of us with endorsements before without any issues.

You can say I'm being bitter over not being able to get any job or whatever, but it sometimes irks me when the Chase system gives you a chance for a phone interview, then the recruiter shows reluctance when you say you're from out of town. Mind you, for some of the associate banker positions, I'm applying to locations IN STATE and even when I emphasize that I'm open to relocation willing to travel to do an in-person interview, I still get rejections minutes later. Sometimes the recruiters are even late to the call(one of them sounded impatient and rude upon hearing that I'm from out of state and hung up abruptly after the call was over, and ghosted me for weeks before dishing out the rejection). I don't get why they're doing this while giving applicants false hope

First, let me say that I have no issue with financial institutions being buttoned up when it comes to sending money from accounts based on online requests. Way better safe than sorry.

That said, I believe Chase has a real issue with their internal systems. I initiated a wire today from my personal checking account--a sizable, but not astronomical amount (i.e. <$80K). A couple hours later I got a message telling me the wire was cancelled for fraud concerns. Gave me a number, which I called and spent 30 minutes clearing multiple security verifications, answering about a dozen questions before being told the wire would clear if I wait thirty minutes and send again. Waited about an hour, went to log into my account to find that Chase had locked my account. Another call, another 20 minutes or so. But, access cleared I logged back in and initiated the wires again. About 30 minutes later, another message saying the wire had been cancelled--same exact wire I had spent 30 minutes getting cleared earlier. Another call into Chase and after about 20 more minutes on the line I was told that in order to send the wire I would need to go to a Chase branch with two forms of identification and that they could send the wire. I told them that I would go to Chase tomorrow, but not to send a wire, but to close our accounts.

I had sent another wire TO MYSELF which they also cancelled. I get the need for security and am all for it. But if you have a system and someone demonstrates they are who they say they are, they should be able to transact. If the system is "go do the branch", just say that before someone spends an hour or two trying to do a very basic thing.

During my time on that last 20 minute call, I logged into my Fidelity account and sent the wire. It was gone from Fidelity by the time Chase could tell me they wouldn't send it. So my new banking arrangement is Fidelity and my nice little local bank. I'll transfer those Sapphire Reserve points and never look back.

I have not used my chase freedom card for last 2-3 years. I got letter from chase to use it or lose it. I plan to use it for 0.25 cents gasoline for one time and let them send me a bill by USPS which should cost more than 0.50 to Chase. Is this fair response to their letter?

Update: I will let them close my account. But I will ask them to stop sending me promotional mails too.

I like to pay my rent a few days early in case I am busy on the day it is due. This month I paid rent on a Thursday. It showed up in my rent app right away. It didn't show up in my online banking until Monday. Even when I went into the bank, it did not show up. When I checked my balance, it showed I had significantly more in my account than I actually did. I recently did another transaction. The receiving bank has already received the money. My account shows the money is still in my account. Not even pending. At this point I have 3 transactions that are completed (receiver has the money) but still showing as in my bank account. The available balance that shows in my checking account has nothing to do with reality. Does anyone know what's going on with this? To show that it's in my account 4 days after the money has already been transferred to another account?

Chase messed up!!

I my 12 month hotel credit of 100$(69.75$ left) for previous year. Statement generation date is 26th July 2026 and I booked on 25th for about 97.20$ a hotel and I got a credit of 69.75$. But this credit was applied on this fiscal year and when I call them explaining this they have just been hopping me from department to department. It’s a very silly bug over which they are wasting my time. They said they raised a ticket and closed it in 5 days!? Not sure what to do here.

Any thoughts?

I moved my business banking to Chase and am looking at the Ink Premier card. The 2.5% cash back on large purchases works well for me; however, how do I convert the cash back to UR's? Do I have to hold an Ink Preferred too, like on the personal side?

What I am about to tell you is 100% true. I couldn't make this up if tried.

I am going through divorce. My ex-wife and I have had a Chase Preferred Card since 1999 that we have used for our primary method of spending. We put everything on that card and paid it off every month for 27 years. But, since we are going through divorce, I agreed that she could continue to use the card and I would simply get my own card. This is where the insanity begins...

On July 5th, 2026, I logged into the Chase account and had offers for a Sapphire card that showed 175K of Bonus Points (I have good income and excellent credit). I applied for the card and expected to be instantly approved. I heard nothing. After a few days, I called Chase to find out the issue and they said, "oh, you will receive a letter in the mail". Uh, what? I'm being denied? After bouncing around from agent to agent, someone finally told me I was being denied because I didn't "have enough credit history". Excuse me? I have 27 years of credit history with CHASE, not to mention auto loans, home loans, etc. Something was amiss. Chase said call the credit bureaus.

So, I downloaded all of my credit reports and found that the Chase Preferred card info was nowhere to be found. It had disappeared from my credit history. I called the credit agencies and they said, "call Chase". Ugh, so back to Chase I went. After speaking with 4 different people, I finally got to someone who said, "hmm, yeah, we did stop reporting your credit for some reason. give us 30 days to fix it." Oh, great. In the meantime, I was planning to use my "new" card to book a trip as well as make a few other expensive purchases, including lawyers fees for this freaking divorce. But, no such luck with Chase. So, I applied for three other credit cards and was DENIED for all of them. Same reason. Not enough credit history.

I logged into my Chase account about nine days later and found that my first name HAD BEEN CHANGED. It wasn't changed to, like, my middle name or anything. It was changed to a mixture of letters that do not resemble a name in any way. I called Chase immediately and, the first person I spoke to said, "you can fill out a name change form and send it in". I said, WHAT? YOU changed my name. YOU didn't INFORM ME that you changed it and now you want me to go through some sort of byzantine maze of corporate bureaucracy to fix it? They transferred me. Three more times.

Finally, I spoke with someone who said, "it looks like someone here changed your name when they were looking into the credit history issue". She assured me she would look into it within the next 7 days.

I filed an official complaint with the CFPB and emailed their executive office with the same complaint. By law, they had 15 days to respond to the CFPB. On day 15 they responded and said, "we're looking into it" which grants them another 60 days before they have to respond.

At the very least I hoped they could change my name quickly. But, it took them over 3 weeks and countless conversations and emails to fix that. Shortly thereafter, they started reporting my credit history again. But, the random name they gave me still shows as an AKA in my new credit report. Yay.

Since everything was supposedly fixed, I re-applied for the same credit card and was DENIED. No explanation. Then I was told to apply again. So I did. DENIED. And, each time I applied, I had three different people calling me to verify that it was me who was applying. It was borderline harassment getting three calls a day from Chase from different people asking, "did you apply for this card?".

Today, I spoke with my designated case manager and she conferenced me in with their credit department. After two minutes, he approved me for the Sapphire card and said it would be sent out in 5-7 days. Great. I asked how many bonus points I'd be getting and he said "75K". I said, well, when I applied, you were offering 175K. They said, no, we have no record of ever offering more than 75K this year. They told me if I could find proof, send it to them.

In five minutes of googling, I found exactly what I was talking about. Certain Chase customers this year had been offered 125K to 175K through the "just for you' link on your account. That is what I applied for. I took screen shots and sent it to them. I also found something FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE that referenced 100K bonus points that was being offered to the general public this summer. They weren't even aware of THAT. This is another perfect example of their awful customer service. They required ME to prove something that THEY were offering.

I have a call scheduled with a lawyer tomorrow to determine what legal recourse I have. The fact that someone INTERNALLY broke the law and changed my name is a serious offense and, honestly, having that name in my credit history could potentially be problem in the future.

TL;DR--Chase denied me a credit card in July because they had stopped reporting my 27 years of excellent credit history with them to the credit bureaus, then changed my first name for no reason, then claimed that they were never offering 175K bonus points when I applied in July.

The first purchase I made, the credit came in after about a week. It's been 2 weeks now, and there's been no credit on my other purchases. However, on my Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred, all of my credits took about a week.

Could it be a Master Card vs. visa issue? Just want to know if others experienced the same issue or are experiencing the same issue.

So I went to pay my bill yesterday and noticed I was missing 80k points. I scrolled down and saw a bunch of amazon purchases were made by someone who I guess stole my CC info. They refunded the 450 cash but I don't think they're going to refund my points. Instead of saving them up, I think from now on ill just get the cashback at the end of the month. Pretty frustrating though

Hi all! On Saturday, I canceled a hotel reservation for which I had used the Sapphire Preferred’s annual $100 hotel credit. I’m now looking to make a new reservation, but the credit status shows as redeemed. I verified that it’s not available for use during checkout. I spoke with a customer support agent, who said it’ll reload on 9/24, but that is my card anniversary date. When I told them this, they put me on a long hold, and then said to make a reservation and call them again to “apply the credit to the amount I’ve paid.” I’ve never canceled reservations that I paid for with hotel credit (+ cash), so I’m not sure how this works. Can anybody who has gone through this share their experience? Thank you!

So I recently signed up for the Chase Business Checking complete account in order to get one of the advertised bonuses. I thought I have read the terms fairly thoroughly, but I guess I missed this one part that says:

Deposit the minimum amount shown below in new money (cannot be existing deposits at Chase or affiliates)

Does this mean I can't use funds from any existing Chase account in order to qualify for the bonus?

This is a bit of a pain, but I have 30 days to get that minimum deposit done, so I have time to move my funds to another bank before sending them to my new CBCC account.
