It’s when a single passing cloud appears that the couple of kayakers, already soaked, hastily and anxiously turn around to reach the shore.

It reminded me of my grandfather, who would take us out in a drizzle to pass on to us his love of petrichor, and his sense of wonder at the forces of nature.

And I tell myself that you have to learn to dance in the rain.

One final reframing.

It has finally FINALLY rained yesterday in my town. It hasn't rained in at least 5 months. All I could do was go out and stand in it, bask in it. Hopefully it will bring with it more rains and cooler temps as summer has been interminably long this year.

🌧🌧I hope it rains a lot in the fall. But I'm not sure if farmers will like it. They have to harvest in the fall.
