Hey everyone,
I’m looking for Android players to jump into Dire Mountain: Cold Trail, a single-player roguelike deck-builder set on a cursed, frozen mountain. It is currently live in Open Testing on Google Play.
If you enjoy games like Slay the Spire, Breach Wanderers, or Monster Train, I’d love to get your thoughts on the core loop and balance.
About the Game
* Genre: Roguelike Deck-Builder / Tactical Turn-Based Combat
* Core Loop: Draft cards, read enemy intents, discover relics, choose your path up branching mountain nodes, and manage health, gold, and status effects.
* Platform: Android (Free Open Beta, instant access)
* Commitment: 15–20 minutes (1–2 runs)
Transparency & Monetization
* Rewarded Ads (100% Optional): There are optional rewarded ads located in the Shop, at Rest sites, and on the End-of-Loop screen. You do not need to watch them to play or progress. Note that ad delivery and specific ad counts are handled directly by the ad network provider, so I don't have fine-grained control over what network inventory displays.
* AI Art Disclosure: Current visual assets were generated using AI to get the project off the ground as a solo dev. Once the game generates revenue, I plan to hire a dedicated artist to replace these assets (also open to discussing a rev-share / point-share arrangement with interested artists).
How to Play
Because it’s on the Open Testing track, there is no waitlist or approval step:
* Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.diremountain.app
* Web Opt-In: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.diremountain.app
Target Feedback
Harsh, direct feedback is always preferred over polite encouragement:
* Card Clarity & Hand UI: Does dragging, tapping, and reading card descriptions feel natural on your screen size?
* Combat Balance: Did any encounters feel cheap or mathematically unwinnable rather than challenging?
* Drafting & Synergy: Did relic and card rewards feel meaningful, or did you feel forced into a single playstyle?
* Rewarded Ad Placement: Do the optional ad prompts feel intrusive in the shop, rest, or run-summary screens?
* Bugs & Device Info: Please share your device model alongside any visual hitches, scaling glitches, or performance stutters.
Feel free to drop feedback directly in the comments, send a DM, or use Google Play's private developer feedback form.
Thanks for testing!
