I’m desperately asking for help, advice, or any legitimate connection that could help us get my mom out of Myanmar safely.
My mom is currently a victim of human trafficking in Shan State, Myanmar. Her situation has become extremely critical.
The company currently holding them is planning to transfer to another location, and they are allowing some people to leave because they do not want the burden of taking them to the new location. However, my mom does not have her passport, and because of the checkpoints and restrictions in the area, she cannot simply travel to Yangon on her own to seek help from the Philippine Embassy.
I have already reached out to the Philippine Embassy in Myanmar. They are aware of her situation and are trying to coordinate with the Myanmar authorities, but because the area is restricted, we have been told that they have to wait for the proper authorities to facilitate her retrieval.
The problem is that we may not have much time left.
They could transfer or abandon them at any time. If my mom is left behind without her passport or any legal documents, we are terrified that she could be sold again or taken somewhere else.
I am begging anyone who may have a legitimate connection with Philippine authorities, Myanmar authorities, anti-trafficking organizations, IOM, NGOs, or anyone experienced in rescuing trafficking victims in Shan State to please reach out to me.
We are not looking to break the law or put her in even greater danger. We desperately need someone who knows how to safely and legally get a trafficking victim out of a restricted area and into the protection of the proper authorities.
If you know anyone who can help, please message me. Even one contact, one organization, or one piece of reliable information could make a huge difference.
I just want my mom home.

I’m 37. I started as an intern at 25, when most of my peers were 21–22. I was always the oldest in the room.

A friend of mine was already a manager at a foreign company. One day he visited our company, and I was so ashamed of where I was that I barely dared to look at him while serving him tea.

I worked fucking hard. Nearly a decade later, I became a manager myself at a couple of companies.

But it didn’t last. I eventually realized I had built my career without a strong foundation, and now my career is basically dead. I’m exhausted and have quit completely.

A few years ago, that same friend and I both left Burma looking for better opportunities. But no foreign country cared much about our Burmese qualifications or mid-level experience. They wanted fresh, trainable entry-level people.

He eventually went back to Burma and continued his corporate career as a manager. I walked away.

Now I’m married, have kids, and feel my dreams fading faster than I expected.

So if you’re young: go study hard and build your foundation properly. You still have a fucking decade.

Don’t just work hard. Think strategically about your first job, your next job, your skills, your qualifications, and where each step is taking you.

I’ve seen people much younger than me spend half the time I did working, yet grow twice as fast because they chose their roles strategically.

Think long-term.

Because ten years from now, your parents will be older, you may have more responsibilities, and you might look back wishing you had made different decisions when you still had the freedom to do so.

That’s the lesson I learned the hard way.

Military-conscript abduction gang busted after grabbing official’s relative

The regime arrested an auxiliary fire brigade officer in Yangon’s Insein Township last week after he and his accomplices allegedly abducted four young men to sell them off as military recruits.

Police raided his home in Insein Township on August 25 and detained him along with two associates.

According to police records, the suspect lured the youths with promises of jobs, then locked them inside makeshift detention rooms at his residence. Insein police have opened an abduction case under Penal Code Section 365.

Locals say the group has military backing to snatch youths for conscription, and the police only acted after the abductors unwittingly snatched a regime official’s relative. Several military-backed groups are snatching men and even children from the streets of Insein Township, while police ignore missing-persons reports filed by victims' families.

The regime’s activation of the dormant conscription law two years ago created a human trafficking market in which young people are routinely abducted and sold as recruits.

During my highschool, I had this so called "rich kids" who always flex on how rich they are, most of them are baba sons and daughters. They talk shis about middle class people and threatened them if they are not in their favor. The thing is, they flex about their wealth alot on social media and proudly talk about how they support military. They used ai to make fake luxury pics, living best life and also threaten to anyone that exposed them. From my personal experience, there's this rich girl in our school. She used ai to fake her grades in a report card, she heavily edits her pics alot and also flex about her luxuries, posting military cars. She threatened a girl saying she can kxll her just because that girl talked shit about her. I feel like this is not fair because some students got bully alot from these exact people and no one talk about this enough. Does anyone know what's the best way to avoid them?

I am currently looking for a gaming laptop and I have come across this Wooking K7 Plus gaming laptop. It is very cheap ranging only between 3.5 mil lakhs to 3.8 mil lakhs for rtx4060 8Gb vram. CPU is only i5-11th gen but rest of the hardware is very appetizing. I know it is a local chinese brand therefore, warranty can be a nightmare but considering that a global brand with almost exact same spec is like 1.5 mils or more higher price and how rare the spare parts are for them too, i am thinking of taking the risk. I work in a cafe as a part time job. Theres this two girls that came into the cafe. They are around 13-15. Both of them were wearing a school uniform. They were saying really rude burmese slurs and n words Infront of me. I know it's not my job to mind them but of course their constant slur spamming feel like piercing through my ear. Then they looked at me and one of the younger girl told her friend something in English "ew look, we are gonna end up like her if we don't study". They probably thought I'm gonna work here as a permanent job and can't understand english. I just chose to ignore it but they kept on judging my appearance in english. That time my shift had ended so I headed back home and searched the school name from their necktie. It's a really small international school that only teaches GED.

This is the most obvious scam I have seen. The actual ged students may get false hopes because of this. This page sells GED leak questions. They also mentioned that IGCSE is useless and brag about why buying ged leaks is better than studying. The comment section is flooded with braindead people..

So for the context, I’ve been using my phone (iPhone 11 pro ) which I bought back in 2019 and has been using it for almost 8 years now and the battery health is pretty much fucked ( 66% ) at this point. I have to charge at least two times a day. So yeah, should I change it or just keep on using this one until it’s done for good.
I am capable of purchasing new iPhone every single year but I don’t tend to do much with my phone anyways, any suggestions as apple’s September event is around the corner.

I have already finished the GED and got 695 score. I am thinking of taking an OSSD program as well. My thinking is that I would like to study Engineering Majors and definitely need to learn Calculus and other math-related subjects. GED doesn't give me any satisfactory learning in science Subjects either ( I am talking about the ill of GED), as it combines the most important subjects into just one, like GED Science.

I would like to be a well-prepared student and would like to find a way to get a scholarship as well.
So, can OSSD give me the rigorous and deep learning that I would like to do? Are there any opportunities for university scholarships?

I had a bunch of ear piercings but got a keloid so I took them out and got the keloid surgically removed. Now i want earlobes and an industrial piercing. My former doctor who i got the keloid removed with told me it’s fine to get my lobes pierced again but my main concern is the industrial piercing as it is already a bit risky even if ur skin isn’t keloid prone. Has anybody here pierced their ears again after getting a keloid and how did it go? I’d appreciate dermatologists recommendations for a consultation session only or any doctors that offer piercing services :)
