I’m looking for a therapist that specializes somewhat in cancer, terminal illnesses, palliative care, and stress of being a caregiver as well.

I’m a young stage 4 cancer patient who also cares for a parent with stage 4 cancer.

Also looking for a Psychiatrist who can treat brain fog from chemo/cancer meds (which is often with stimulants and many providers won’t prescribe them).

I have UHC which matters more for the psych because I’d be willing to self pay for a specialized therapist. I’ve checked who is covered with UHC but it’s hard to narrow down that specifically.

My bike was stolen from outside of my apartment building on E Mifflin St last night. It was locked to the bike rack so someone must have cut the lock. Attached is a picture of the bike. It no longer has the white PVC pipe on it (I was using that as a way to carry my fishing rods).

It is with great pride and excitement that I (30 F) share my review from working with Alea at Jeweler’s Workshop in Madison, WI. My partner (34 F) set an appointment after reading some great reviews on Reddit, and I hope this review can send more people toward choosing Jeweler’s Workshop and, more specifically, Alea. My partner had no idea what she wanted and I had many ideas for what I wanted, and we both received the guidance needed to get our gorgeous engagement rings that we are both over the moon about. Neither of us knew what to expect from the process. Alea was excellent and talked us through the process, broke down the pricing for each element of our rings, and was very patient and answered all our questions. The store has an area set up so that you can explore different styles and see how they feel on your hand. There’s a selection of bands that vary in weight, color, texture, and detailing. There’s a selection of more feminine bands that include magnets to switch out gems of different karats. This “playground” of bands and gems helped my partner tremendously in figuring out what she likes and dislikes in a ring. Alea was so kind and helpful in drawing up examples of terminology and options we were unfamiliar with. When we had confidence in a design, Alea 3D printed a grey colored plastic ring so we could try on our design before it was made. And when my final design ended up being a little too big, Alea was able to correct the size and get it back to me in a timely manner. We are definitely going back to make our wedding bands here.

I frequently ride the D line and it’s been anywhere from 10-25 minutes late. It has rarely been on time.
I wish they would just adjust the schedule so I could plan around the time the bus will actually be there instead of needing to arrive early and watch the ETA get more and more delayed. Often when the bus does come, it’s practically empty, so it’s not as if it has to stop and wait at every stop.
In other cities I’ve been to, buses come far more frequently than every 30 minutes (and the abysmal hour long wait on weekends). A bus being 25 minutes late (as it is right now) would be a major failure of service.
So, what’s the deal? And how do we fix this?

EDIT: Wow, wasn’t expecting such a response! I’m thankful for all of the insightful comments. To address some things:
I take the D2 to work every morning. At my stop, it is always scheduled for XX:14 AM, and that’s the one I always plan around. At about XX:03 AM, I check the bus status in Google and Apple Maps to determine if I need to hustle to get to the stop. If it’s significantly delayed, I also check the real-time Metro map just to make sure it’s not bad info.
One, the bus arrived early at about XX:13.
A few times, the bus has arrived on time at XX:15 or so.
Most mornings, the bus is delayed, and arrives between XX:20 and XX:25.
This morning, the bus arrived at around XX:37, and had only 2 or 3 people on it.
I appreciate everyone recommending the Transit app, I’ll have to check it out.
I would be totally fine if the bus was scheduled for XX:20 or XX:23, I would just adjust my schedule accordingly. The issue is just that there’s seemingly no real way to know ahead of time (meaning, the day before) whether the bus is going to show up on time or 20ish minutes later, and that to me is a service failure. If it’s going to be consistently late, the schedule should be adjusted to reflect that, and ideally (but unlikely as people have discussed) frequency could be improved to mitigate the impact of being behind schedule.

I’m in my thirties and can’t find a ride to pick me up from a medical procedure that will use anesthesia. You cannot use a cab at UW it looks like, otherwise I would. Are there any alternative options? I don’t know who else to ask.

I'm without a boat this season, but I want to get some wild rice planted in my pond. Does anybody have some fresh grain to spare?

Curious if anyone has broken a lease with Bruner Realty?

We are closing on a house in October and would like to get out of the lease (ends August 2027). Lease's early termination clauses asks for 1/2 months rent in order to relist the apartment for showing but does not garuntee an exit. I assume if we break it we lose the secruity deposit, which is fine, just curious of other practicle implicaitons from others experiences...

I made a post yesterday about MMSD restricting personal laptops, and after reading through all the comments I honestly think a lot of people made good points.

I especially agree with the concerns about creating a bigger wealth divide between students. If some students are using $1,500+ laptops while others are stuck with whatever the district gives them, I can see how that goes against the idea of having an equal playing field. People also brought up security, cheating, IT support, and teachers having to deal with a bunch of different devices, which are all fair points.

So I think I’d change my original argument.

Instead of letting everyone bring their own laptop, I think MMSD should focus on improving the computers students are given.

That was really the source of my frustration in the first place. I’m a student, and I’ve seen how much time gets wasted because Chromebooks are slow, freeze, or just can’t do certain things.

Basic Google Docs is usually fine, but once you have Canvas, Docs, Slides, multiple research tabs, PDFs, etc. open at the same time, they can really start to struggle. It gets even worse for things like coding, larger spreadsheets/data sets, science simulations, CAD/design work, video editing, or other software that goes beyond basic browser use.

Even if it's only 20 or 30 seconds waiting for something to load, that adds up when it happens over and over throughout the school day.

I still think students should have equal access to technology. I just think the answer might be making the technology everyone gets better rather than letting some students bring better devices from home.

If MMSD is going to standardize everyone onto the same device, I think those devices should be capable of comfortably handling what students are actually being asked to do in 2026.

Curious what people think about this instead.

I had a medication change that caused me to lose a significant amount of hair and I had to chop about 8 inches off to my shoulder. My hair hasn’t been the same since and I need someone with lots of experience and who understands that everyone’s hair is different and not one product fits all. Willing to travel a 30-45 min radius around Madison if necessary for someone that can make a difference.

Looking for a good place to take fall family photos outdoors in October. Somewhere with open grass and fall colors, anywhere in the Madison or surrounding area. I’m ready for something other than pope farms 🤪
