Hi hi! Im learning animation, and i want to Create/Build an indie animation studio, but for now, i just want to learn how to animate, nothing big (for now), but i want to make this trip a fun one, i want to learn doing fun things, little shorts, little tests, and maybe one day become something bigger. With that said, i was wondering if other people feel the same. If you feel the same, and you are interested in the kind projects im going to describe right now (they are really specific and i think it shows my very peculiar taste really good) then maybe we could get in contact and try to work together in this journey!

What i want to do in my animations:

-Emotional, contemplative animations
-Simple colors, cinematic shots (very inspired by Wes Anderson)
-Im a musician, so i want to make the music on the shorts or tests

What I DONT want to do:

-Action shorts
-Fantasy (at least not for now)
-NSFW

I am a really bad animator lol, like i said, this is my learning journey and then maybe something bigger and more produced, but for now i just want to learn and have fun. If you want that too, let me know!

This is my first serious attempt at animating characters. I'm still tweaking this as I go, but I can't put my finger on what needs to change to make it look less awkward.

Any tips and improvements that I might need to learn study on?

I've been studying 3 hours per week for a bit more than one month, and im still learning all the fundamentals so i didnt reach all 12 of them yet. I usually do 1h for theorical study and then 2h for practice

Hi everyone I hope you're having a great day, I am making a game where the main character is playing with a first person camera, I want to add a tripping mechanics to the game but every approach I take to the effort on the screen, was causing motion sickness, the game itself has a comedy slop vibes so the effect doesn't have to that AAA hyper realistic I just want something that sells the idea for the player that you are tripped and that's is not ok, the same thing with falling on the ground.

Hey everyone! I spent some time cleaning up my workflow and realized Adobe shipped a few tiny native features that replace stuff I used to need expressions and paid scripts for.

Thought I'd share the actual breakdown, since they flew under the radar with all the 3D/SVG talk:

1. Proportional Scrubbing:

Select multiple layers, hold Ctrl + Alt (Win) / Cmd + Option (Mac) and drag any numeric property like Opacity or Position.

Instead of setting everything to the same value, AE spreads it proportionally from your first-selected layer to your last. Works on keyframes too. Select 10 layers with the same drop animation, hold the shortcut and drag the keyframes to get a perfect cascade.

Tip: The order you select matters. Top-to-bottom vs bottom-to-top completely changes the spread direction.

This one alone replaced my staggering plugin.

2. Copy Frame to Clipboard

There's now a button in your Comp panel that copies the current frame to your clipboard as a clean render. No more Composition > Save Frame As...or screenshots full of guides/nulls.

Just park your playhead, click it, and Ctrl+V straight into decks, communication, anywhere. Super handy for storyboards and quick client checks.

3. You can finally edit Illustrator gradients natively 

If you import art with gradients, right-click the layer > Create > Create Shapes from Vector Layer > delete the extra group.

Now under Gradient Fill, you get full control over Scale, Rotation, Opacity, Start/End points.

All inside AE. No need to jump back to Illustrator to tweak it.

4. Crop Comp to Selected Layer Bounds

Not brand new, but they finally put it where you need it. 

Select any layer > Right-Click > Crop Comp to Selected Layer Bounds and AE instantly resizes the comp to that layer's exact size.

Perfect for cleaning up pre-comps for icons, character parts, or reusable assets. No more manually creating a new comp and copying layers over.

None of these are flashy features, but together they've cut a lot of annoying busywork.

You know the videos where AI characters talk in different topics and I wanna know how to make these type of videos. Is there a way to do it freely?

After recently completing my biggest animation project to date, I've been thinking the logical next step would be to have dialogue in my next project. I'm not an actor and would prefer not to do voice work myself, so how exactly does it work getting voice actors and recording dialogue when working on either a No Budget or Micro Budget scale? I've seen elsewhere suggestions of reaching out to the local community theater or college theater club, and of course I know there's actors available online. I'm more curious about recording though, especially if it's multiple characters having a conversation. Do I just expect the actors to record their dialogue separately? Try to arrange a day for the actors sharing scenes to meet up to record (obviously that only makes sense if I'm working with local actors)?

It's mostly that it was done completely at random—and considering that the flight is one of the most cursed things to do...
Oh, and the little figure is supposed to be a dragon.

This is a really early stage where i had put all the elements together to get an idea of the global look. Since then I changed the little rock buddy's animation and i'm currently cleaning the goat.
For this animation i'm painting by hand the background, trees and sky ! First time trying this

Also for the wheels i was proud cause i didn't use a 3D model, it's not perfect but it works !

This is my first time using the program btw. I used to not give it a chance but decided to give it a go.

Complete noobie looking for an App or Software to create basic animation. Looking to produce basic facial animation from source image or video. Simplistic, basic & animation. South Park / King of the Hill / Annoying Oranage etc
