Hello, I've posted in firestick subreddit and then again in the Onn sub. Has anyone had the issue where you are able to pair a firestick remote to the IR profile of a TV, then after the TV shuts off and turns back on it loses that connection? Like the TV selection in FireTv doesn't save the setting that pairs the remote.

Has anyone reset their Fire TV Insignia brand to Factory Default? Any issues with updates? Etc?. I'm thinking it's time. It's been a few years since buying it.

Got a 4k max, spent about 30 mins setting up then whilst setting up the equipment control this happened.

Any idea how I can get this back? I can’t see any on screen messages so the remote factory resets not working.

Decently old Sony Bravia TV (where the BraviaSync feature has its own dedicated menu buttons on the Sony remote itself).

Worked fine with the fireTV remote turning it off and on, volume etc for ages. Now randomly doesn't work.

I've tried everything the internet has thrown at me so far, reset every device multiple times, gone through advanced and normal setup for HDMI-CEC on the fire stick settings, still won't work...but it used to!!

Very annoying. Any other random tips? (I've checked and the IR transmitter on the fire remote is still working / sending a signal)

Does anyone know what’s wrong and how to fix this?

I’ve tried to clear the cache and data, uninstalling the app completely and clearing it from the cloud, restarting my firestick but nothing seems to work. This update message keeps appearing for an endless loop no matter how many time I do the update.

Is my firestick just too old?

A few weeks ago my Recast device stopped recording a daily TV show series. It will still record individual episodes, but not the series. It will also record some of the series, but not all of them.

Anybody else (still running one of these wonderful dinosaurs) having similar issues?

I ditched Sky Stream for an Apple TV around 18 months to 2 years ago.

The ATV has been great overall and has all the apps I need (and more). However, the biggest issue I've found is the lack of effective parental controls.

My child has their own profile, but it's far too easy to accidentally switch to the adult profile, which doesn't require a PIN. While I can lock individual app profiles with a PIN, it's not ideal. I also find some of the content recommendations, adverts and "Up Next" artwork on Apple TV can be quite unsuitable for younger children.

Can anyone recommend a Fire streaming box that has:

1. Good parental controls
2. NOW
3. Disney+, Paramount+, Netflix, Prime Video and the other major streaming apps
4. Freely app (UK)

I'd be interested to hear what people are using and whether you've found a setup that works well for families with young children.

I'm on 7.7.1.6 and my cube did update to the new UI and today that I turned on my tv noticed that it had the old UI, someone else has experienced this?

Had to do a reboot due to sound issues, and it could no longer connect to the network, at least not on 6g. Just saw they updated yesterday. Who do I get in touch with Amazon to yell at them for breaking my Firetv cube 3rd generation?

Bought the tv a month ago and it used to work fine. Ive deleted and reinstalled it 5 times, and the only time i can open it is when i get the notification its finished downloading and gives me the option to press the three lines to open it

Does anyone know what to do? i dont want to have to delete it and login every time i want to open it

I've set up a child profile on my firestick and added a pin for my main account. What I don't get is when I turn on the firestick it opens my main profile.

Surely it should open with the profile selection screen so you have a choice to go into the child's profile or main profile protected by the pin?

Any ideas am I missing something?

UPDATE: got it to work. Settings, apps, Fire TV, force stop, clear cache, clear data. Then power off/on the TV.

I finally got an antenna for my Toshiba Fire TV. Did the scan for OTA stations and it reports 40 channels found, and I should go to "On Now" on the home screen to find them.

All I see there is the channel guide, which has none of these OTA channels.

What to do to see them?

Firetv stick 4k max reboot randomly

While watching YouTube for 2x mins, it reboots randomly. For many times.

Tired different power plug but still same .

As of this morning my grandma who's 92 can't tune to the channel she wants using voice anymore so she struggling to be able to change the channel to any app or her antenna channels. It was working perfect yesterday. She basically kept defaulting to prime or search menu whenever I would ask her to tune to channel 7.1 or channel 21 on tubi which goes to I think unsolved mysteries. I deleted chache and unplugged TV for 30+ seconds. After more of an hour working on it I had to stop before I broke her TV over my knee. She's at an age in her life where she can't learn navigating through the apps. Idk if anyone knows how to fix this but I need help lol. She needs her price is right in the mornings.

Looked everywhere. The actual Amazon Prime Video app settings does not have an ability to turn off the auto play. Even when I play my purchased content it auto plays whatever garbage it wants and it’s annoying. Anyone ever figure this out? Even though auto play is off on my computer, it refuses to stop autoplaying on my FireTV

PC is connected to my TV with an HDMI cord. But even when im using my PS5 its like my soundbar tries to constantly switch its audio settings on its own and it makes my TV blackout for a few seconds then come back.

When my PC is connected it makes the screen on monitor do the same thing. Any idea why? But even without my sound bar plugged in it still does the same thing. WHY??

exactly what the title says. I can’t access certain apps like peacock or Hulu. I can’t download them I can’t find them I can’t search for them. at the same time, RTE player (for context rte is the irish equivalent of the bbc) is constantly on my home screen along with the GAA app (which is used for watching Irish football and hurling. when I go to search for Hulu or peacock in the App Store, all the suggestions are in German even though everything else is in English. i got this tv from my neighbor, as far as I know this tv has never been outside the U.S. whats the proble?

I have a Fire Stick 4K Max connected to an LG tv and it randomly loses a/v sync while watching programs, especially on Netflix. A re-boot corrects the problem, but I don't consider this an acceptable solution. I have 1G ethernet, so I doubt buffering is an issue.

I’m wondering if anyone is having the same issue or has found a fix. When downloading apps from downloader they install and work as normal, but I can’t get them to appear in the apps and channels page. I can go into settings > applications and launch them from there though.

Has anybody found a fix for this?

I got a used Insignia Fire TV without the remote, and it’s been factory reset. Now I’m stuck on the select language screen and I can’t move past it.

I connected the TV to my Wi-Fi using an Ethernet cable so I could use the Fire TV app as a remote, but the app doesn’t detect the TV. I can see the TV listed as a device on my Wi-Fi network, though. So I’m not sure why it is not detected

Is there anything I can do to get past this screen and actually use the TV?

I have (had?) a fire TV. I switched where it was plugged in, and all of a sudden my TV looks like this when trying to play anything. It's so weird because the apps are fine, but playing anything is out of the question. I tried looking it up, but everything kept going to a Fire Stick, so I'm making this post just to make sure it's literally a goner. Got it in 2022; it's the 4-series.

Does anyone know if I can use the cube to connect to more than one device? I have some remote control curtains that use IR and wondering if I can also connect those with my tv? Thanks (:

Is it cooked? It’s been like this for hours, already tried different outlets, using the control to try to force a reset, reset my router, different tv, different HDMI port…

It was working yesterday, it suddenly stopped opening apps, it had a pending update so I did that and it still wasn’t working, then I hit reset from the menus and it hasn’t turned on since.

Just the past few days the YouTube app will only play part of a video before it locks up completely, eventually going to a black screen. I can't backup, pause, play, or do anything except hit the home button to get out of it. I have tried Force stop, clear cache, clear data, then I even uninstalled and reinstalled it. I still have the same issue! Did they come out with a new version that is not working properly?

I am to the point where I'm trying to load an older version but I'm not sure where to go at this point. I was told to get into developer mode and then install the downloader, but now what? How do I find a previous version of YouTube?

Is this my solution or is there something else that is wrong?

I have a couple of FireTV USB 2.0 hub/100Mbps adapters but I want something with gigabit LAN. I know the USB on the Max is only USB 2.0 but only USB 3.0 adapters have gigabit LAN ports which are capable of 300-380Mbps when connected to a USB 2.0 port. None of these USB 3.0 adapters can power the Firestick through the USB though so they need a USB-OTG adapter too.

The problem is that not all chipsets work with FireTV devices and most adapters don't tell you the chipset. Can anyone suggest a powered USB hub/Gigabit LAN adapter confirmed to work with FireTV and specfically the 2nd gen 4K Max?
