WPL: New Comics Discussion for 09/02/2026- Pull of the Week: Batman #13 [Discussion]

The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Batman #13.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Batman or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

Excerpt [Excerpt from Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four #3] I love that Sue was the only one who immediately picked up on Peter's mind game and then shut Johnny and Ben up before they had a chance to interrupt him as he manipulates Doom.

Fan Creation My recreation of the Doctor Doom cover from Doctor Doom (2019) #1 — original cover art by ACO

I’m fairly new to drawing and have recently started learning comic-book art. I really liked this Doctor Doom cover, so I decided to recreate and color it as practice. The original composition is from Doctor Doom (2019) #1, with original cover art by ACO.

I’d love to hear what you think!

Discussion What characters are in their golden era RIGHT NOW?

Mainly thinking about characters who have their own series currently, not side characters in a current series. Can be team books as well!

I am just wanting to know what characters are having some of their best (if not their best) stories coming out currently.

DC Comics survey randomly inserted into comics in 1978.

These are known to exist, but this is the first time I've seen one in person. I manage an LCS and see LOTS of comics all the time. This one was inserted into Detective Comics #476, Mar/April 1978. A copy of a book just like this (but in better condition) just recently sold on ebay for $60. IMO, not as cool as a Mark Jewelers insert, but still pretty cool to see.

I was given this comic among other items at a benefit auction (where I was working). It was an auction item that did not hit its minimum. The comic has a hand drawn cover with Deadpool and Domino but I'm not sure who it is? Any ideas?
