So ive been messing with these ai app builders that promise you can ship apps without touching code, and tbh I’m stuck between “this is magic” and “this is gonna break the moment anything gets hot”.

For anyone here who cant code (or is just mid at it), how are you actually using ai to build real apps that people use, eg simple booking tools, dashboards, internal tools, stuff for clients etc? Context, briefly: I'm a dev, became a dad four months ago, my wife was the only tester for the whole build. I need eyes that aren't hers.

What it is: an iPhone app blocker with a twist. You pick the apps that steal your time (TikTok, Instagram, whatever), and they stay locked until you earn minutes with your body. The camera counts your reps: 1 push-up = 1 minute, 15 squats = 10 minutes. Steps and workouts from Apple Health count too. When the minutes run out, the apps lock again.

Who I'm looking for: people who have tried blockers before and turned them off within a week. That's the exact failure I'm trying to fix, so I need people who will be tempted to cheat.

What I want tested:

- The camera rep counter, on different phones and lighting (does it count your push-ups fairly? can you cheat it with half reps?).

- The first day: does the lock feel fair or annoying when it first bites?

A friend of mine and I have been building a web app called CarCare, and we're looking for a few people who actually own a car and are willing to test it properly.

The idea came from something we kept seeing in real life. My friend works on cars, does mechanical work, and designs 3D parts, and with people/customers around that world, we kept seeing maintenance history end up everywhere: receipts in the glovebox, service dates forgotten, mileage in notes, and workshop invoices in random folders.

So we built one place to keep vehicles, maintenance, costs, documents and service history together.

It currently includes reminders, maintenance tracking, spending history, tire tracking, printable history, and we recently added document scanning that can extract service information from invoices/receipts before you save it.

There is a free plan. I'm not looking for people to pay just to test it.

What I'd really like is for someone to add an actual car and tell me:

I'm a retired developer in Germany and I've spent the last months building an I Ching app for Android. All 64 hexagrams with the Wilhelm commentary, German and English, works fully offline, no ads, no subscription, no account, no tracking.

Before Google lets me publish it, they require 12 people to install it and stay opted in for 14 days. I have 8. So I'm asking here rather than pestering my former colleagues, and I'd rather have testers who actually care about the Yijing than people doing me a favour.

What it involves: send me the email address of your Google account by DM, I'll send you a Play Store link, install it and open it now and then over two weeks. That's it. Feedback is very welcome — that's the whole point of the exercise.

I built Masareef, an Android spending tracker. The part I actually need tested is the capture.

It reads the payment notification your bank posts on the device and turns it into a transaction while the app is closed. Card payments, transfers, wallet top-ups, ATM withdrawals and incoming money each get routed to the right wallet. Confident ones post automatically with an undo, anything ambiguous waits in a review inbox instead of guessing, and a Refused list names the exact reason an alert was dropped so you can teach it.

Why I need testers: it knows 413 named banks and wallets across Egypt, the Gulf, Asia, Africa and Europe, plus the generic card and ATM formats beyond those. Egypt is well covered because that is where I live. Every other country is the half I cannot verify myself.

What would help most

• Install it, make one real card payment, and tell me whether the transaction appeared on its own.
• If it did not, tell me the bank and roughly how its alert is worded. I will add the format.
• Pick your own country and currency at setup. It is multi-currency, not EGP-only. If a currency renders wrong anywhere, that is a bug I want.

On permissions: the Play build never requests RECEIVE_SMS. It reads notifications only, parsing runs entirely on the device, nothing financial leaves it, and it works offline once you are signed in.
