Question Need advice about a criminal case in Algeria

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice from anyone familiar with Algerian criminal law, especially lawyers or people who have experience with criminal cases.
My bf who lives in Algeria has a criminal case. The incidents happened years ago, but he‘s only now going through the court process and is expected to be detained while waiting for his appearance before the judge.
There‘s 3 cases:
• 2 theft related cases (one involved a stolen phone, but he says makach menha w ghir kdbou 3lih and I don’t know the exact details of the second one).
• one case involving violence. I was told that someone was stabbed and suffered an injury, possibly a broken arm/shoulder but the person survived and recovered.
His lawyer is supposed to start dealing with the case very soon
I have a few questions:
What kind of prison sentence could someone potentially face for charges like these in Algeria?
Are there minimum and maximum sentences for these offenses?
Does the fact that the incidents happened several years ago make any difference?
Is there anything that could reduce the sentence or avoid imprisonment?
Is there any possibility of a compensation to the victim, paying money or another alternative to prison?
Is there anything I can do from outside algeria to help him?
I know Reddit isn’t a substitute for a lawyer. I’m mainly trying to understand the general Algerian legal process and possible range of outcomes

Discussion Looking for a competent psychiatrist for ADHD in Algiers

Upvotes

Hey, I'm looking for a psychiatrist or psychologist in Algiers who actually knows about ADHD and neurodivergence. I'm 18 and I've been having a bunch of problems with attention, procrastination, routines, reading/concentration, etc. It's been affecting my university and daily life quite a lot, so I finally decided to get properly checked instead of just trying to figure it out myself.

I've gone through a bunch of old posts here but honestly didn't find much. Most of the people were also looking for someone or just passing along a name without having actually seen them.

So I'm mainly looking for people who actually got diagnosed by the psychiatrist they're recommending

If you've actually been assessed for ADHD in Algiers, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how it exactly went, how much did you paid, and how long your sessions lasted..etc

I don't necessarily want someone who'll just diagnose me or give me meds. I just want someone who actually knows what they're doing and can figure out what's going on, even if it turns out I don't have ADHD.

I've seen Dr Kara in Birkhadem mentioned a couple times, so if anyone has actually seen her for this, I'd especially like to hear about your experience.

Technology Buying a new phone and wondering if falgship is worth it s price

Guys, I need your help, especially people who switched from Android to Apple.

So, my phone died (Samsung A53). I’ve had it since September 2022, and I wasn’t ready for it to die, but now I have to buy a new phone, and I’m considering getting a flagship one.

To be honest, I’m only considering an iPhone because I have a MacBook.

I want something durable, with a good camera and all that, but most importantly: DURABILITY.

And the whole idea of buying a used phone is weird to me, but I’ve asked around and people keep telling me it’s fine.

Now I’m confused about whether I should switch to an iPhone and whether it’s actually worth it, since it’s a bit more expensive than Samsung.

So:

  1. Between the S25, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16, which would be the best choice
  2. I already have the money saved, but it would cost me about two months' worth of salary. Is it worth spending that much on a flagship, or should I just stick to a mid-range Android?

Question planning to visit Algeria would it be hard to get a visa?

I’m a Moroccan guy who moved to Germany 2 months ago and since now I’m finally financially stable I’m planning to visit my gf in Algeria we have been dating long distance for over a year now and I think it’s finally time to meet in person. She’s my perfect match and everything I have been looking for. But since Algeria reinstated visa requirements for Moroccan passport holders i want to know how hard the process is going to be

How do businesses use AI while still respecting data laws (customer or employee data must not be sent abroad, to AI providers, for example)

And I want solutions other than a local LLM, since not all businesses can have such powerful servers

Society Why is talking to girls in Algeria so sensitive sometimes?

Why is it that when you try to have a normal conversation with a girl, even asking something as simple as

(How’s the weather over there?)

she might immediately assume you’re trying to flirt or get to know her?

Is it because of bad experiences with men, social norms, or just being more cautious about people’s intentions?

I’d especially like to hear from Algerian girls: How do you see it?

Discussion I can't stand up for myself when i have to any advice?

i have been the quiet kid "l3a9la" since like forever and it only started to bother me when i went to college , bc some girls here are reall as***les

don't get me wrong when things get serious i would stand up for myself eventhought i don't always have the wittiest come backs but i beleive the act of standing up for myself is what actualy matters , i love my own company i pick my friends carefully but even some of my so called "friends" often disrespect me undirectly or as a joke and i find my self just laughing it off or staying silent instead of responding or standing up for myself and i feel so bad afterward , idk whats wrong with me while a part of me is screaming at me to say something the other part is afraid thinking is it really worth starting a fight? and now i am afraid it will always be like this

i would appreciate any kind of advice but especialy if someone used to be like me how did you overcome .. this?

Discussion I feel like our mentality is stuck in the past

I find it weird how we can be so advanced in some areas but still use something as basic as cleaning to judge a woman’s character.

A colleague of my mom literally told her that he knows if a woman is “good enough” just from the way she cleans.

Like what does that even tell you about her as a person? Cleaning is a skill. It doesn’t measure someone’s intelligence or worth. Yet somehow we turned being a "good housewife" into a standard for whether a woman is good enough.

I feel like we should question why we inherited these standards instead of automatically treating them as facts.

EDIT : my mom's colleague is a man. I am not a man.
